Mulching Technology Scheme: Bihar government is giving 50% subsidy to farmers for adopting mulching technique
Mulching Technology Scheme: According to Deputy Chief Minister-turned-Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, the Bihar government is constantly pushing modern farming methods to increase farmers’ income, save water and increase crop yield. In this sequence, the use of plastic, jute and agro textile mulch components has been proposed in all the districts of the state. According to this scheme, farmers using plastic mulch at a one-time cost of ₹ 40,000 (forty thousand) per hectare will get 50% assistance.

Mulching Method Necessary for Weed Control and Water Saving
According to the minister, mulch technology is helpful in maintaining soil fertility, weed control and moisture in the field. This method has proved to be quite successful, especially when it comes to growing flowers, fruit trees and vegetables.
According to Deputy Chief Minister-turned-Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, this program will help farmers deal with the effects of climate change and also ensure that agricultural production continues. According to him, the Bihar administration is committed to using contemporary agricultural technology to lead the state towards a green revolution.
Implementation and Scope of the Scheme
According to him, the program will be implemented in every district of the state, allowing farmers from all regions to take advantage of it. Support programs, technical training and on-farm demonstrations will all be used to persuade farmers to adopt this technology. The use of this technology will increase production, reduce water use and enhance crop quality. As a result, farmers’ income will increase immediately and environmental protection will be strengthened.
According to Sinha, this scheme of the state government is an important step in building a strong, attractive and sustainable agricultural industry. Apart from improving the financial conditions of farmers, the scheme will help make Bihar a leader in agricultural innovation.
