Farmer Pension Scheme: The Rajasthan government has taken a really commendable step for the small and marginal farmers of the state. The government provides monthly pensions to these elderly farmers who have made farming their primary source of income and who have reached a stage in their lives where they need financial support under the “Rajasthan Krishak Samman Pension Yojana.” Apart from meeting their financial needs, this scheme also gives them a sense of independence and self-respect.

What is Krishak Samman Pension Yojana in Rajasthan?
This program is especially for those farmers who have now grown old and fall into the small or marginal category. Farmers eligible for this program get a pension of Rs 1150 per month or Rs 13,800 annually, which is sent directly to their bank account. The aim of this initiative is to ensure the security and dignity of the farmers in their old age.
Eligibility Conditions
This program is available only to permanent residents of Rajasthan. To qualify, the following requirements must be met:
- The minimum age requirement for female candidates is 55 years.
- Male candidates must be at least fifty-eight years of age.
- The recipient must be classified as a small or marginal farmer.
- District-by-district limits have been established for farmers’ land.
Setting land ceilings at the district level
To ensure the eligibility of farmers, the government has set a maximum land area per district. The goal is to ensure that only those farmers benefit from the program who actually live with fewer resources.

Who is not eligible?
Despite being designed specifically for older farmers, several groups of individuals are excluded from this program as they are already receiving benefits from other Rajasthani social security pension schemes, such as old age pension, widow pension, divorced pension, or special disability pension. Even if all other requirements are met, these individuals will not be considered eligible for this program.
