Success Story: This retired teacher did wonders in farming, earned lakhs of rupees by selling crops

Success Story:  In the Gurua block in the Gayaji district of Bihar, there is a hamlet called Lalgarh. The 67-year-old village resident Rampati Prasad, a retired teacher, has inspired the farmers. He continues to labor in the fields all day despite his advanced age. He earns over 5 lakh rupees a year from farming. Additionally, he is raising awareness among the nearby farmers. He turned farming into his purpose after retiring from teaching, and by making a healthy living from farming, he is also serving as an inspiration to other farmers.

20 tons of potatoes were produced

Rampati Prasad mostly grows watermelon and potatoes. In addition, he engages in extensive vegetable and maize cultivation. He uses about ten bighas of land to grow this. When his yearly income exceeds 5 lakh rupees. There are two rivers that separate his community. As a result, potatoes, melons, and vegetables are produced here with great quality. He earned around 3 lakh rupees this year from the 20 tons of potatoes he produced. In addition, he is making considerable money from other crops.

Just seven years as a teacher

Rampati Prasad had already resigned from teaching physical education in 2018. In 1971, he completed his matriculation. He then received physical education instruction in Amravati, Maharashtra, in 1982. He was chosen and given the chance to serve for only six to seven years when physical instructors were hired in 2012. He worked in agriculture from 1982 until 2012 and amassed a respectable fortune doing so. There are two or three tasks around the home since both of his sons work in business.

In the past, in addition to farming, Rampati Prasad used to purchase and sell other farmers’ products. He used the money he made from it to purchase nine bighas of land. In the same area, he now grows several kinds of vegetables after retiring from teaching. Potatoes, maize, and other crops have made a healthy profit this year. He has made Rs 3 lakh from the sale of potatoes. He said that while he had considered starting his own company after retirement, his kids had encouraged him to continue farming, and he is now successfully saving money from it.
