Success Story: Leaving traditional farming, this farmer adopted gardening, earned a lot by growing apples and almonds
Success Story: A farmer from the Farrukhabad area named Bablu Rajput has taken a different approach with his bravery and diligence, despite the fact that farmers are suffering greatly from the shifting weather. He began growing crops like coconut, fig, apple, and almond by switching from seasonal crops to horticulture, and he was successful at it.

Motivated by the District Magistrate
Bablu Rajput claims that the district magistrate served as his motivation for gardening. He then planted 175 apple, 500 fig, 5 almond, and 5 coconut trees in February 2023 with assistance from the Agriculture Department. These plants were little at first, but he was able to make over Rs 70,000 in profit in a year.
Now, an almond crop is growing on arid ground
According to Bablu Rajput, hard effort eventually pays off, although the beginning is never easy. The costly almond crop is now growing on the ground that was previously desolate. Fruit demand has begun to come from Farrukhabad and other regions as a result of rising demand.
After potato crop losses, horticulture emerges as a new alternative
Farmers in the Farrukhabad area are consistently losing money growing potatoes. Bablu Rajput has shown an alternate approach in this case. His horticulture has shown that farmers can still make a healthy profit by eschewing conventional crops.
Large yields even from little plants
In small plants, 50 to 350 fruits have begun to appear. Fruits are in high demand not just in Farrukhabad but also in places like Barabanki, Banda, and Lucknow. This demonstrates how horticulture has become a lucrative choice for farmers.
Technical details needed for the planting
Bablu Rajput said that 400 plants may be planted per acre and that there should be a 10 by 12 foot space at the time of planting. Eighty percent of the plants begin to produce fruit in two to three years. The soil should retain its moisture content, but there shouldn’t be any water buildup.
Nutrition’s impact on fruit quality
When given the right care, apple plantings may yield up to four apples each bunch. However, a bunch of fruit becomes smaller if there are more than four of them. As a result, healthy eating and appropriate treatment are essential.
