Two years ago, Fateh Singh Rawat boldly decided to grow almond trees in the rugged terrain of the Makhpura area, he told reporters. At that time many people expressed their objections. Also, many people asked, “Are you crazy?” This area is not suitable for growing almonds. Still he continued his efforts. Today, almond trees planted on the same land have started bearing fruit as a result of dedication and hard work. He said that this is the beginning of a new hope in his life.

This is how he made a goal

Rawat further said that now he gets inspiration from this achievement. Now he intends to expand and commercialize the practice. He said many people seek his advice to learn. His aim is to take this extraordinary effort forward and demonstrate that farming is possible on any kind of land, provided one has a strong will.

New inspiration for farmers

Fateh Singh Rawat aims to encourage farmers in the district to focus on new crops besides the usual wheat and rice. He said the land on which he is growing almonds was not fertile earlier, but he was able to make it cultivable with hard work and organic methods. Rawat does not use chemical fertilizers. He feels organic farming is better for the environment and produces high-quality produce. He claims that youth without jobs can find work using this technique.
