Dr. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme: The Madhya Pradesh government is always working on a number of initiatives to raise the income of farmers and cattle rearers. 25 milch cows will be eligible for loans up to Rs 42 lakh
Cattle producers who establish a unit of 25 milch animals would be eligible for a loan of up to Rs 42 lakh under this plan. The unique feature is that this loan will also include a 33% subsidy. The recipient will get the subsidy amount in one lump payment, with no interest due.
Who is eligible for the program?
- This program is only available to Madhya Pradesh’s permanent inhabitants.
- The recipient must be at least 21 years old.
- Training in dairy farming from a government agency or accredited university is required.
- The recipient must own a minimum of 3.50 acres of farmland. If additional family members agree, using the joint land is also permitted.
Who will be given precedence?
- Priority will be given to the cow producers who now provide milk to the milk union.
- The program allows the recipient to take up to eight units, or 200 milch animals.
- Depending on his needs, he may choose any of the high-breed cows, hybrid cows, or buffaloes.
- There will be a minimum of two years between the two loans, and the second loan may only be taken out after the first loan has been repaid.
Terms of payment and subsidies
- SC/ST groups would get up to a 33% subsidy under the plan, while other categories will receive a 25% subsidy.
- This subsidy will be paid out as a lump payment after a three-year lock-in period.
- There will be four stages to the loan distribution.
- Online applications are required, and the selection process will be conducted on a “first come, first served” basis.
- Additionally, the recipient may be able to pay back his debt ahead of schedule.

According to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the state administration is committed to raising farmers’ and cattle ranchers’ incomes. Approximately 9,500 milk producers are affiliated with the 381 new milk cooperatives that have been established in the state so far for this purpose.
