Farming Tips: Farmers should adopt this special method in farming, income will increase rapidly

Farming Tips: Cucurbitaceous vegetables (bitter gourd, bottle gourd, cucumber, nenua, etc.) can now become a good source of income for farmers even during the rainy season. According to District Horticulture Officer Dr. Seema Singh Rana, farmers can significantly improve their yield and quality by using the scaffolding method. Apart from protecting the crop, this method also increases the prices in the market.

Most of the farmers grow cucurbitaceous vegetables during the rainy season, but due to abundant moisture and water in the soil, the plants and fruits get damaged. The fruits start rotting and decaying as soon as they come in contact with the ground. As a result, farmers have to suffer huge losses. The easiest and least expensive way to deal with this problem is to use scaffolding.

What are the Benefits of using Scaffolding?

By growing bamboo in the field and adding wood or dry twigs to it, the scaffolding method creates a lattice structure. Plants grow on this scaffolding, and the fruits remain above the ground. As a result, there is no chance of rotting of fruits as they do not come in direct contact with soil or water. Moreover, the fruits get adequate air and sunlight, which improves their size and quality. These fruits ripen early and fetch good prices in the market.

Double the profit from Scaffolding Method

Dr. Rana claims that with a scientific approach and a little understanding, farmers can get a bountiful harvest even in the rainy season. This can double their income. To help the farmers, the horticulture department has included it in the mission plan. Jaunpur district has set a target of 40 hectares, out of which 10 hectares are set for scheduled caste farmers and 30 hectares for general farmers.

First Come, First Served

The benefits of this initiative will be available on a first-come, first served basis and a subsidy of up to 50% will be provided. For more information, farmers can avail themselves of the benefits of this program by registering on the website http://dbt.uphorticulture.in/ or by contacting the horticulture department.

A note for farmer brothers

Using the scaffolding method, farmers can increase the protection of their crops, increase production and quality, and become prosperous by getting higher market prices. Farmers of Jaunpur now have a great opportunity to do farming with this scientific technique.
