PM Crop Insurance Scheme: “Acquire security and crop insurance.” This central government statement is the truth, not only a catchphrase. Do not put off insuring your crop if you haven’t already. The national government recently deposited Rs 3900 crore into the accounts of 35 lakh farmers. Farmers whose Rabi crops were harmed received this money. Applications for Kharif crop insurance are now being accepted. Otherwise, you would be left with no choice but to feel regret when this chance has passed.
The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’s deadline for Kharif crop insurance has been extended. You may insure your crop until August 30 if you have an agricultural loan or a Kisan Credit Card. To provide as many farmers protection as possible, the government has continued to accept applications for this program. Insurance is available for some Kharif crops
Kharif, or summer crops, contain oilseeds and cereal grains. Millet, sorghum, maize, moong, moth guar, chana, urad, tur, soybean, sesame, paddy, cotton, and peanut crops are all eligible for insurance prior to August 30. If the crop is harmed between planting and harvesting after insurance has been obtained, a claim for reimbursement may be submitted to the insurance provider. You may seek compensation under the Crop Insurance Scheme (PMFBY) for crop loss brought on by cyclones, floods, droughts, pests, or diseases.

The nominal premium
The good news is that the farmer does not have to invest a lot of money in order to profit from this arrangement. The farmer brother will only be required to pay a 2 percent premium for the Kharif harvest. The government will give the insurance firm the remaining funds. The farmer would only be required to pay Rs 200 if you have insurance for your millet crop and the premium is Rs 10,000. The government would provide the remaining Rs 9800.
