According to him, cattle producers may benefit from raising some unique Desi breeds of cows, such as Gir, Sahiwal, Lal Sindhi, and Thar Parker, throughout the summer. Dr. Ranjan claims that the Gir cow is well-known worldwide for producing more milk. The price of gir milk is more than that of regular Desi cows. In the various regions of Bihar, Gir cow milk costs between Rs 100 and Rs 150 a liter. They may readily produce up to 25 liters of milk each day if raised correctly.

Even in intense heat, Sahiwal produces superior milk

Sahiwal is renowned for supplying milk, much like Gir. In states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Bihar, it is raised extensively. On average, a Sahiwal cow produces 10 to 15 liters of milk per day. It may produce up to 30 liters of milk every day if you feed it properly. Sahiwal can withstand heat very well. For this reason, India also exports it to numerous Caribbean and African nations.

In a single lactation, Red Sindhi may produce up to 1840 liters of milk

It is now grown in Bihar and many other Indian states. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, and Kerala are home to a large number of these cows. This cow is bright red in hue, just as its name suggests. In a single lactation, it produces 1840 liters of milk on average.
