He said he has been growing water chestnuts for a long time. An excellent vine seed is initially taken in this process. Next, in order to keep the plant seed stable, it is pounded down in the pond’s water using two sticks. The hygiene of the pond is then given particular care in order to prevent any harm to the vine. According to farmer Than Singh, pesticides are applied to the vine a few days after it is planted to prevent illness.
In three months, fruiting will begin
According to the farmer, water chestnuts are an aquatic crop. It has a significant risk of illness; thus, taking care of it is crucial. When placing the vine in the pond, caution must be used. The vine begins to bloom in one to two months, and the fruit begins to mature within a month. It takes around three months. The farmer then begins harvesting the fruit. A clean pond and high-quality vine are essential for growing water chestnuts.
Farmers are now able to make money from water chestnuts
According to the farmer, the water chestnut vine takes three months to reach full maturity. Farmers may get a high harvest and make a decent profit from farming if they take the right precautions. Many Bharatpur farmers have already begun growing water chestnuts and are in the midst of planting the vine in a pond. Farmers are increasingly turning to the water chestnut crop as a source of revenue. Farmers are now growing water chestnuts in their ponds that are full of water because they see this as a fantastic way to make money.
