Mango Farming: This insect is very dangerous for mango orchards, know how to protect yourself

Mango Farming: The Kangra region produces large quantities of the king of fruits, the mango. Large mango orchards of the best varieties, like Dasari Langra Chaunsa and Amrapali, are especially popular in the Nurpur assembly seat and surrounding areas. These orchards are the main source of income for farmers. However, currently, the growers are increasingly concerned about diseases impacting the mango crop because of frequent weather fluctuations.

Because of this, the agency is trying to find solutions in collaboration with farmers and gardeners. The literature claims that tiny insects known as sucking pests seriously harm mango crops. There is a possibility that the mango crop may rot, as it is difficult to estimate how much damage it causes.

Mango can be damaged by these diseases

The mango is called the “King of Fruits” for its taste and nutrition, and it’s popular worldwide. However, growing mango presents many difficulties, primarily because of major diseases and pests that can reduce productivity and spoil the quality of the fruit. Farmers can protect their crops and get high yields by using proper disease and pest control strategies for mango. However, some diseases, such as mango anthracnose and deformity, can destroy the entire crop.

What did the horticulture officer say?

According to Vipin Guleria, Director of Horticulture Research Center Jach, some areas of Nurpur, Indore and Una are important places for mango cultivation. According to him, farmers are sometimes given information about diseases like bunch disease, wilt disease, travel pest, etc. In addition to this, the agency organizes training programs to provide farmers with accurate information. He claims that the organization occasionally gives farmers information so they can safeguard their crops.
