Paddy Farming: Follow these measures before transplanting rice, pests will be eliminated
Paddy Farming: These days, farmers are busy getting ready for paddy after harvesting wheat. The planting of paddy seedlings will begin as soon as the rain starts, while some farmers also transplant paddy directly in May or June. Farmers must treat the soil before transplanting to keep termites and other root-eating pests away from the paddy crop. Farmers may save money by treating their soil because if they don’t, pests will subsequently damage their crops. Farmers must employ costly chemical fertilizers to avoid this.

The Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Research Institute’s Scientific Officer, Dr. Sunil Kumar Vishwakarma, gave the farmers clear and concise instructions. According to him, farmers may shield their crops against these pests by utilizing a unique organic product created by the institution. In paddy fields, irrigation is necessary, which makes soil pests more active and damages plant roots. Therefore, before beginning paddy transplanting, it is crucial to treat the soil.
How should an organic product be used?
Mix 5 kg of Bacillus bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae per hectare with rotting cow dung and apply it to the field during the last field plowing to protect it against pests that live within the soil. Level the land after plowing, then water it and plant the paddy. One kilogram of this organic product costs about Rs 168 at the Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Research Institute. To safeguard their paddy crop, farmers may purchase it straight from the institution.
