Paddy Farming Tips: Put this green manure in the field before transplanting paddy, the soil will become prosperous

Paddy Farming Tips: After the Rabi crop is harvested in April and May, the farmers’ fields remain vacant. According to the Agriculture Department, this vacant time can be used to make green manure, which will increase the quality of the soil and reduce the cost of the next crop. By applying green manure, farmers can increase the amount of organic carbon in the soil. Also, this will increase productivity and reduce the cost of paddy crops.

District Agriculture Officer Dr. Vikas Kishore has warned the farmers not to vacate the land after harvesting the Rabi crop. Dhaincha can now be planted as green manure. Also, subsidy is given on Dhaincha seeds by the Agriculture Department. Deep plowing of the fields after harvesting the Rabi crop raises the soil and the upper surface is lowered. Due to this, sunlight kills the pests hidden in the soil and air circulation in the soil increases. After this, prepare the field and plant Dhaincha. In about 45 days this crop will be ready for green manure. After this, mix it in the field and add water.

Benefits of green manure

The amount of organic carbon present in the soil, which is now decreasing, is increased by green manure. Also, it keeps the pH of the soil stable so that the area does not become dry. The soil becomes more resistant to diseases and the cost of fertilizer for the next crop is reduced.

How to get seeds?

According to Dr. Vikas Kishore, the Agriculture Department provides seeds to farmers at a low price for the cultivation of Dhaincha. Farmers have to register before purchasing seeds from their nearest government agricultural seed store.
