Shera Singh, a farmer from the Barabanki district’s Paradipo hamlet, began growing tomatoes in addition to other customary crops and made a healthy profit. Today, he is growing Desi tomatoes in around one or two bighas. On a single crop, they are making between one and one-and-a-quarter lakh rupees in profit from this farming.
In one bigha, twenty thousand rupees are delivered
Shera Singh, a tomato farmer, said that even though he had previously grown rice, wheat, mentha, and other crops, he was not making much money from them. After considering growing veggies, we decided to grow tomatoes and made a healthy profit. We now grow Desi tomatoes in around two or three bighas. The price per bigha is around twenty thousand rupees. Regarding the profit, we make between one and one-and-a-half lakh rupees on a single crop. Because, in contrast to hybrid tomatoes, Desi tomatoes are in great demand. It sells for a pretty high price as well.
The crop is ready after sixty days
It is really simple to grow. The field is first thoroughly plowed. Beds are then created, and the field is leveled. After that, we cover it with foil and put tomato plants one foot apart. The tree is watered once it has grown somewhat. After that, bamboo wire and twine are used to bind the tomato plants across the field. This reduces the danger of illness and produces an excellent tomato production. Just 55 to 60 days after the plant is planted, the crop begins to appear, which we may harvest and offer for sale in the marketplace.
