According to the Deputy Chief Minister, the use of drones in agriculture is leading to a radical change in traditional farming practices. Drone technology saves time and reduces costs significantly. Within ten to twelve minutes, a drone can spray one acre of land. The drone can carry 10 liters of liquid fertilizer, fungicides, or pesticides at a time, increasing the efficiency of the spraying work.

Using Drones for Spraying

He stated that the state sprayed 27,666 acres of cropland with drones in 2024-2025. This target has been increased to 56,050 acres for the next financial year, 2025-2026. Under this initiative, farmers will get a maximum subsidy of ₹240 per acre, which is equal to 50% of the spraying price. A farmer is eligible to get a subsidy for drone spraying twice and for a maximum of 15 acres of land.

Drone spraying with NPK consortia, nanourea, nanoDAP, micronutrients, and other liquid fertilizers can improve crop quality and yield. The use of drones reduces their environmental impact by saving time, labor, water, and pesticides.

Farmers will become technically competent and self-reliant as a result of this project. This initiative of the state government is an important step toward advancing smart farming, environmental balance and sustainable agriculture. On one hand, such an effort will reduce agricultural costs, while on the other hand, it will also increase the yield and income of farmers.
