The first phase of work is finished
Let us inform you that Uttar Pradesh has 57,704 gram panchayats in total. which 95,826 commercial villages fall. All of them will serve as model communities, it has been agreed. The government has provided information indicating that the project is being finished in two stages. The first phase’s work has been finished. In which effort was made to clean up the village between 2014 and 2018. In response to the issue of open defecation, toilets were built in each community. 2.16 crore toilets were installed in UP as part of the cleanliness program, according to official statistics. Additionally, a warning was sent to the state’s residents not to urinate in public.
Authorities are conducting a campaign
The second phase’s development has already begun, starting in the year 2020. By 2025, it is hoped that every hamlet will fall under the ODF Plus category. Currently, efforts are being made to keep each community clean. In relation to its administration, officials are making policy decisions. A statewide effort in this area has also been launched by the Panchayati Raj Department under the ‘State Sanitation Mission’ at the same time. Therefore, the cleaning process will be accelerated.
This year, a large number of communities will fall under the ODF Plus category
In the second phase, work is being done to maintain restrooms, manage garbage, and make sure qualified families can utilize them. According to a senior government source, the UP government last year classified 6,974 villages in the ODF Plus category. Approximately 47,000 communities will fall under this group this year. The government asserts that after the project is finished, the hamlet will be completely clean. People will gain a lot as a result.
