Khet Talai Scheme: The government is giving subsidy of up to Rs 1.35 lakh on farm ponds, know the details

Khet Talai Scheme: The Rajasthan government has taken an important step to solve the irrigation problems of farmers. “Khet Talai Yojana” is a great programme of the state government, which provides a subsidy of up to 90% or a maximum of Rs 1,35,000 to farmers for building farm ponds on their land. This scheme will allow rainwater to be collected and used for irrigation. This scheme will be beneficial for both water conservation and increasing the income of farmers.

Remember that after the application, the Agriculture Department will visit the spot and inspect it. The pond can be built only after the construction project is approved. The farmer will get the direct payment of the prize money in his bank account. This scheme is effective till the current financial year.

Objective of the scheme

The primary goal of this scheme is to collect rainwater and use it for irrigation so that agriculture can be done even in areas with low rainfall. The water stored in the farm pond can be used for irrigation during the Rabi and Kharif seasons.

Grant payable

Under the Khet Talai Yojana of the Rajasthan government, farmers of different categories are eligible for grant facilities.

For small and marginal farmers, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes:

  • 70% of the cost of raw farm pond or maximum Rs 73,500
  • 90% or maximum Rs 1,35,000 for pond made of plastic

For farmers of other categories:

  • 60% or Rs 63,000 of raw pond
  • 80% or Rs 120,000 on pond made of plastic

Only farm ponds with a capacity of 400 cubic metres or more will be eligible for this award.

Eligibility and required paperwork

  • A minimum of 0.3 hectares of agricultural land should be registered in the name of the farmer.
  • Even in the case of joint shareholders, a minimum of 0.3 hectares of land should be in one place.
  • A copy of the jamabandi, which is not more than six months old, and an Aadhaar or Janadhaar card must be submitted along with the application.

How to apply?

Farmers can visit the nearest e-Mitra facility or apply online by visiting the Raj Kisan Sathi portal. Online access to the application receipt will also be provided.
