Mukhyamantri Machhua Kalyan Scheme: To enhance the standard of living for the state’s fishermen and fish vendors, the Bihar government is launching a significant project. The ‘Mukhyamantri Machhua Kalyan Yojana’ is an online application process being offered by the Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Bihar for the fiscal year 2025-26. By providing the required facilities and resources, this plan aims to make the individuals involved in the fishing industry self-sufficient. This plan will empower them monetarily in addition to bolstering their company.

Where and how beneficiaries can apply for Mukhyamantri Machhua Kalyan Yojana:

The scheme’s primary goal

The state’s fishermen would get free kits for fishing, Mahi, and marketing (fish sales) activities, as well as a 50% discount on three-wheeler vehicles that have cold boxes for fish vendors under the Chief Minister Fisherman Welfare Scheme. The individuals who work in the fishing industry will save time and effort, and their income will rise as a result.

The scheme’s two main categories

1. The Marketing Kit Scheme and Matsya Shikarmahi

The chosen fishermen, seafood dealers, and sellers will get a unique kit under this program at a 100% subsidy. The tools required to capture and sell fish will be included in this package.

2. Yojana Matsya Parivahan

A car with a three-wheeler oil box will be provided to fish vendors who sell in bulk or at retail. The recipient will be responsible for paying the remaining 50% of the vehicle’s total cost after the government provides a 50% subsidy.

How will the plan be put into action?

  • The proposal and quote must be sent to the district fisheries office by the chosen recipient.
  • In the name of the relevant supplier agency, the recipient will draw his share amount and turn in the receipt at the office.
  • The District Fisheries Officer will then review the receipt, provide recommendations, and direct the relevant agency to distribute the vehicles.
  • At the district level, dedicated camps will be set up to disperse all of the equipment and vehicles.

Who stands to gain?

  • Matsyajivi Sahayog Samiti members
  • Members of the Jeevika Group, Scheduled Caste/Tribe, and FPO who deal in fish.
  • The applicant must provide a postcard-sized picture of his fish store or selling location, bank account information, mobile number, and self-declaration form with his application in order to be eligible for the reward.

  • August 31, 2025, has been set as the application deadline.

Things to keep in mind

  • A recipient will not be eligible for this plan if they have previously benefited from a comparable program.
