Mushroom Farming: Bihar government will give subsidy to farmers for mushroom cultivation, know how much amount will be given
Mushroom Farming: According to Vijay Kumar Sinha, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister, the government of Bihar is continuously promoting innovations to boost farmers’ incomes and ensure the state’s agriculture develops sustainably. A Rs 4 crore plan to support mushroom production under the “Integrated Horticulture Development Mission” in the fiscal year 2025–2026 has been authorized, marking a significant step in this direction. According to him, this plan would be a significant step toward the state’s modernization and organization of mushroom production.

Financial assistance will be provided for mushroom production
According to the Deputy Chief Minister, growers would get financial support under this program to establish several private sector mushroom-producing facilities. This contains a spawn unit, compost unit, and air-conditioned mushroom-producing facility. A grant of 40 percent, or Rs 12 lakh, would be awarded on top of the Rs 30 lakh fixed unit cost for the compost and mushroom production plant. A 40 percent subsidy, or Rs 8 lakh, is set aside for the spawn unit at a cost of Rs 20 lakh. In addition, a 50 percent subsidy, or Rs 1 lakh per unit, would be provided for small-scale manufacturing at a cost of Rs 2 lakh per unit.
According to him, in order for the program to be implemented, qualified farmers must register on the DBT site and submit an online application. The “first come, first serve” policy will be used to evaluate applications in order to preserve openness and provide interested farmers with prompt advantages. By using contemporary technology, farmers will have the chance to make mushroom farming a lucrative enterprise.
Agricultural diversification will get a boost
According to Sinha, the Bihar government’s program would support agricultural diversification in addition to mushroom cultivation. The state’s farmers will become more self-sufficient as a result of this action, which will also boost their income and the rural economy. It will also be seen as a powerful effort to establish Bihar as a pioneer in agricultural advancements.
