Paddy Seed Subsidy: The state government is giving up to 50% subsidy to farmers on paddy seeds, know who will get the benefit
Paddy Seed Subsidy: The government of Uttar Pradesh periodically implements a number of programs to help farmers become rich and self-sufficient. The state government has now handed the farmers a significant present for the Kharif season of 2025, according to this episode. Farmers in the state who grow paddy will now get a 30–50% subsidy on upgraded seed varieties. The goal of this choice is to provide farmers high-quality seeds at a reasonable cost so they may increase their output.

The process of establishing nurseries for paddy planting began
In the state, paddy planting preparations get underway as soon as the Kharif season begins. In their empty fields, farmers are establishing nurseries in anticipation of transplanting. The Yogi administration has made the decision to provide farmers with assistance by subsidizing paddy seeds in such a scenario.
Which types will be eligible for subsidies?
The Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department states that the following types of paddy will get subsidies:
- 50% subsidy for Sias One
- HUR 917: 30% discount
- CO One and IR 64: The subsidy is also set on these and may change.
Approximately 640 quintals of rice seeds have been kept by the government for the Kharif season so far. Delivering 759 quintals of seeds to the farmers is the goal.
You won’t have to pay in full now
In the past, farmers were required to pay the entire price while purchasing seeds, and the subsidy amount would arrive in their bank account many months later. However, this procedure is now simple and clear. In order to purchase seeds, farmers must now touch the e-POS system with their thumb, and the subsidy amount will be subtracted simultaneously. In other words, they will only be required to pay the discounted amount.
Where can I get in touch to buy seeds?
Throughout the state, government seed warehouses provide this facility. To get the seeds, farmers will need to visit the block office that is closest to them. Farmers would simply need to bring their Aadhar card and Khatauni with them for this.
Seeds will be accessible even if you don’t register
Nevertheless, the program does not need registration. By just placing their thumb on the ePOS machine using their Khatauni and Aadhar card, farmers may get paddy seeds even if they haven’t registered.
How much land and how much seed will be available?
Under the government program, 30 kg of seeds will be accessible if you own four bighas of land. This seed will be distributed according to the government-recommended amount and subsidy rate.
These block offices have facilities
This service is offered at the district’s nine block offices, and the Kisan Kalyan Kendra in Mahunrahi provides seeds to the farmers in Sadar block. The district has over 2 lakh 17,000 registered farmers, all of whom are eligible to benefit from this subsidy program.
How to take advantage of the program’s advantages
- Obtain the Aadhar and Khatauni cards for your farm.
- Visit the closest government seed depot or block office.
- Put your thumbprint on the POS machine to get seeds.
- Only the remaining money will need to be paid by you; the subsidy amount will be automatically subtracted.
