Role Overview: Arena Attendant

The Arena Attendant plays a critical role in maintaining the TD Coliseum’s ice surfaces, overseeing event conversions, and ensuring equipment safety. This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience operating ice resurfacing machinery, managing event logistics, and leading teams in high-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ice maintenance tasks including Zamboni driving, ice edging, and board & glass upkeep.

  • Installing and removing ice and logos for hockey games, ice shows, and other events.

  • Leading and supervising a team of 15–30 crew members during event conversions and setups.

  • Operating hand and power tools to perform minor repairs, equipment maintenance, and fabrications.

  • Supporting pre-event troubleshooting and post-event wrap-ups to ensure smooth operations.

  • Maintaining clean, safe, and presentable work areas, including painting, refinishing materials, and general housekeeping duties.

  • Ordering parts and materials as needed for repairs and maintenance tasks.

  • Using specialized equipment such as Sky Jack, Fork Lift, Boom Lift, and Fall Arrest systems (experience is an asset).

  • Performing additional duties as assigned to ensure the overall success of the venue’s operations.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • 3–5 years of related experience, including mandatory Zamboni driving experience.

  • WHMIS certification.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work professionally with contractors, colleagues, and management.

  • Competence in interpreting sketches, diagrams, and building plans accurately.

  • Physical ability to perform work indoors or outdoors and operate required equipment safely.

  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to handle fast-paced event environments.

  • Professional appearance and adherence to uniform requirements.

  • Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime when needed.
