Sanjit Mahato of Samastipur, who has been beekeeping for the last three years, is the subject of our discussion.

Sanjit faced many challenges in the initial phase of beekeeping. The biggest problem he faced was bee stings, but he found a solution and is now earning well as a successful beekeeper.
Bees used to cause problems
When Sanjit Mahato started beekeeping, he used to have a lot of trouble with bee stings. Initially, he considered quitting beekeeping because bee stings caused his lips, hands, and cheeks to swell. But, despite the daily pain, burns and terror, he continued with his work. But then he realized that nothing is possible without hard work. Now he does not feel pain even when a bee stings him because his body has gradually adapted to it. Now he enjoys beekeeping and is earning a respectable living from it. The farmer mentioned that he occasionally travels to other districts and states depending on the season.
Earning up to 4 lakhs annually
According to Sanjit Mahato, he raises bees in more than 150 boxes. With this, he earns 350,000 to 400,000 rupees annually. He claims that neither a lot of space nor money are needed for beekeeping. Only patience, expertise, and proper care can accomplish it. He said that apart from selling honey, he also earns extra by selling wax. Today, youth like Sanjit are inspiring others. Farmers like Sanjit have become models of self-employment in a profession where most people run after jobs. He said that he likes his work, but selling the product is a bit challenging.
