Principal Duties

• Using seasonal products and consumer tastes as a guide, develop new menu items and daily specials.
• To reduce waste and keep food expenses under control, manage supplier orders, inventory, portion control, and stock rotation.
• Uphold food safety regulations and WHS rules by keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and clean.
• To ensure excellent performance and collaboration, train, advise, and inspire kitchen employees.
• Work together with management to optimize operations, limit costs, and design the menu.
• Make sure all kitchen appliances are kept in good working order and report any issues right once.
• Keep thorough records of all kitchen activities, including stock control and temperature logs.
• Encourage a courteous, upbeat kitchen culture that prioritizes customer pleasure, quality, and safety.

Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• At least two years of experience working as a chef in a busy café or restaurant.
• Commercial Cookery Certificate IV (or a comparable credential).
• Excellent creative and culinary abilities with a strong focus on presentation and detail.
• Outstanding time management abilities and the capacity to function well under duress.
