We are currently recruiting for Search and Rescue Crewmembers for our Arctic Marine Response Station (AMRS) located in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. Join our dedicated team and contribute to maritime safety, search, and rescue services in one of Canada’s most unique and challenging environments.

Canadian Coast Guard Jobs Key Responsibilities:

Work Environment:

  • Location: Rankin Inlet, Nunavut

  • Shift Schedule: 14 consecutive days of work followed by 14 days off (rotating shift pattern)

  • Work Conditions: This role requires dependability, strong decision-making skills under high-stress conditions, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Benefits:

  • Travel Assistance: Travel expenses to/from the work location will be reimbursed.

  • Accommodation & Meals: Provided while on shift and during pre-season training.

  • Northern Allowance: Additional salary based on location and dependents ($22,000 to $36,000 per year).

  • Training: Position-specific training will be provided before the operational season.

Eligibility:

  • Employment Equity: Preference will be given to Indigenous peoples (Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement or other recognized groups).

  • Essential Qualifications:

    • Experience in boatingmarine activitiesfirst response, or search and rescue.

    • Knowledge of marine safetymarine emergencies, and navigation is an asset.

    • Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) and follow instructions.

    • Dependability and a strong teamwork mindset are essential.

  • Desirable Qualifications:

    • First Aid or CPR-C certification.

    • Bridge Watch Rating Certificate.

    • Ability to speak Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Reliability Status: Security clearance.

  • Medical Fitness: Health assessment required.

  • Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 license (or equivalent).

  • Availability: Willingness to work in adverse conditions, on-call, and overtime as required.

  • Uniform: Must wear and maintain prescribed uniform and protective equipment.
