C&I: Unlock Your Potential as a Senior Engineer in Aberdeen’s Thriving Energy Transition Hub
C&I: Are you an experienced Controls & Instrumentation engineer ready to play a defining role in the future of energy? Based in the heart of Aberdeen, United Kingdom, a new senior-level opportunity has opened with Kent – a global engineering and consulting leader that is driving the world’s shift toward low-carbon and renewable solutions while continuing to deliver excellence in traditional oil & gas and offshore wind projects.

This is not just another engineering position. It is a chance to join a forward-thinking, people-first organization that genuinely lives its values every day and offers the platform, projects, and support you need to take your career to its next level.
Why This Senior C&I Engineer Role Stands Out
Working within Kent’s highly respected Asset Integrity team, you will provide specialist technical leadership across concept, pre-FEED, and FEED phases for some of the most ambitious energy projects on the planet. You will support clients in three fast-evolving markets: traditional Oil & Gas, rapidly expanding Offshore Wind, and cutting-edge Low Carbon initiatives including carbon capture, hydrogen, and electrification schemes.
Day-to-day, you will deliver high-value C&I input, prepare and review critical project deliverables, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, represent the company in client-facing meetings, and even guide vendor selection processes. Beyond delivery, you will contribute to winning new work through bids and proposals while mentoring junior colleagues and helping strengthen internal QA/QC processes.
What You Will Bring to the Table
Successful candidates typically hold a degree in Instrument and Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Chartered status (or active progress toward it) through IET, InstMC, or a similar body is highly regarded.
Hands-on experience in controls and instrumentation design within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors is essential, and any exposure to subsea controls, offshore wind, or low-carbon technologies will give you a strong advantage. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and the ability to produce clear, concise technical reports under tight deadlines are equally important.
What truly sets top performers apart is a combination of technical depth and broader personal qualities: emotional agility, infinite thinking, a fanatical focus on performance, and the confidence to “play big” when the stakes are high.
A Culture That Celebrates Every Individual
Kent has built a genuinely inclusive environment where more than 24 nationalities across six continents work side by side. From day one, you will benefit from family-friendly policies, truly flexible working arrangements, and active employee networks that make sure every voice is heard.
As a disability-confident employer, reasonable adjustments are available throughout the recruitment process and beyond. Diversity of background, experience, thought, age, gender, ethnicity, and ability is not just welcomed – it is recognized as a key driver of innovation and success.
The Bigger Picture – Purpose That Goes Beyond Profit
Every project you touch will contribute to Kent’s overarching mission: delivering the energy the world needs in the most responsible way ever imagined. Whether you are optimizing existing assets, integrating renewable generation, or helping bring game-changing low-carbon solutions to life, your work will have lasting impact on communities, clients, and the planet.
