Candidates with experience across different CNC machine types are encouraged to apply, as the role can be structured to suit individual strengths while aligning with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

From the start, the successful candidate will take ownership of CNC machines they are familiar with. Responsibilities include programming, setting, and running CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, and Sliding Head Lathes. The role involves preparing jobs by setting up tools, fixtures, and work holdings for a variety of machining centres. Final inspection and accurate measurement of manufactured components are essential to maintain quality standards. The machinist will also design work holdings for both prototype and production jobs, supporting efficient and repeatable manufacturing processes. Continuous skill development is encouraged, particularly in CNC programming, alongside completing a mix of production and prototype work for diverse industrial clients.

Skills and Experience Required

Applicants should have a minimum of four years of recent experience as a machinist or CNC machinist. A formal qualification in Fitting and Turning or a similar trade is required. Strong experience with CAM programming software, particularly Fusion 360, is essential. Candidates must be confident using computers and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents. A strong desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a high-performing team is critical. The role suits someone with a strong work ethic who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.

Additional Skills That Add Value

While not essential, experience with CAD-CAM systems will be highly regarded. Familiarity with Fusion 360, Okuma OSP, and FANUC control systems will be considered an advantage. These skills can support faster integration into the team and open opportunities for more advanced machining and programming tasks.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia. Visa sponsorship may be considered for the right candidate who demonstrates strong technical ability and long-term potential. There are currently two positions available, offering an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business with a stable future.
