What the Job Involves (Your Role)
The successful candidate will be a skilled and culturally safe practitioner, particularly when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Alice Springs region.
Conducting psychosocial and functional assessments with NDIS participants.
Creating support plans tailored to meet each person’s goals and needs.
Helping participants navigate complex systems (e.g., housing, healthcare, mental health services).
Responding to crises using a trauma-informed care approach.
Keeping detailed, professional case notes.
Working collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals.
What You’ll Need (Essential Criteria)
To be considered for this visa-sponsored role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work.
Registration: Current AASW membership or eligible to join.
Experience: At least 1 year working in disability, mental health, child protection, or aged care.
Knowledge: Good understanding of NDIS and person-centred practice.
Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively advocate for people.
Checks: Must have or be able to quickly obtain Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening, and Police Check.
Location: Happy to live and work in regional Alice Springs.
Advantage: A Driver’s licence would be handy.
