JOBS IN CANADA: Amazon Opens Area Manager Hiring Across Multiple Canadian Locations
JOBS IN CANADA: Amazon has announced fresh hiring for the position of Area Manager across several fulfillment and operations facilities in Canada. The openings are aimed at early-career professionals who are ready to take on people management roles in a fast-moving warehouse environment. These positions are full-time, on-site roles and are not remote or office-based.

On-site leadership role within Amazon operations
The Area Manager role is based inside Amazon fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, and other operational buildings. Employees selected for this position will work directly on the production floor, where standing, walking, and real-time coordination with teams form a regular part of the workday. The company has clarified that this is an entry-level leadership position designed to build future operations leaders from the ground up.
Amazon emphasizes that the role is suited for individuals who are comfortable working in physically active settings and can make quick decisions while managing daily operational challenges.
Key responsibilities and team management expectations
As an Area Manager, the selected candidates will be responsible for leading teams of approximately 50 to 100 hourly associates. The role involves mentoring team members, monitoring daily performance, and ensuring that operational goals are met consistently. Safety, quality, attendance, and productivity remain core priorities.
Managers are expected to work independently while coordinating closely with other operations leaders. Responsibilities may also include overseeing inbound and outbound truck movements, assisting with package sorting when required, and operating material handling equipment at applicable sites. The work environment can vary in noise level and activity depending on the facility.
Work schedule and physical requirements
The position requires flexibility in work schedules. Area Managers may need to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs. While shift structures vary by site, many locations operate on a fixed four-day workweek with three consecutive days off.
From a physical standpoint, the role involves standing or walking for shifts that can extend up to 12 hours. Candidates should also be capable of lifting items weighing up to 49 pounds and performing routine movements such as bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs where applicable.
Educational qualifications and preferred background
To be eligible, applicants must have completed or be in the final stages of completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, with all academic requirements finished between May 2024 and August 2026. The degree must be fully completed before the employee’s first day of work.
While candidates from all academic backgrounds are welcome, Amazon has indicated a preference for applicants with education in supply chain, business or management, engineering, or related fields. Strong communication skills, customer-focused thinking, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams are considered valuable assets.
Compensation, benefits, and workplace culture
For Canadian locations, the annual base salary for the Area Manager position ranges from CAD 70,200 to CAD 83,000, depending on the city and candidate profile. Final compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and job location. In addition to base pay, Amazon’s total compensation package may include sign-on incentives and restricted stock units.
Employees are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and accident insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and wellness resources. Relocation assistance may be offered to eligible candidates at the time of the job offer.

Current openings are available in multiple Canadian cities, including Calgary, Edmonton, Sidney, Victoria, Halifax, Ajax, Barrhaven, St. Thomas, and Windsor. Amazon has stated that work authorization without employer sponsorship is required for these roles.
