Employees may also be required to operate military transport vehicles and equipment such as forklifts while supporting supply movement across different military divisions. Work Locations May Include Domestic and Overseas Deployments

The Canadian Armed Forces stated that Materiel Management Technicians can be assigned to support the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, or Royal Canadian Air Force. Depending on operational requirements, employees may work at military bases across Canada or be deployed internationally.

Training Program Includes Military and Technical Preparation

Applicants selected for the role must complete the Basic Military Qualification program at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in Quebec. The training focuses on physical fitness, military discipline, and operational readiness.

After basic military training, candidates undergo approximately 70 days of occupational training at the Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre in Borden, Ontario. The technical training covers inventory systems, warehousing procedures, material handling, packaging standards, repair coordination, and supply administration functions.

CAF also offers advanced learning opportunities in areas such as hazardous material management, business planning, internal audits, personnel management, and military contracting procedures.

Eligibility Criteria and Part-Time Opportunities

The recruitment notice mentions that prior experience is not mandatory for this position. Applicants must have completed at least Grade 10 education or Secondary 4 in Quebec. Foreign educational qualifications may also be considered during the selection process.
