This position is based within a residential care service in Rochester and follows a structured shift pattern of 40 hours per week. The rota is designed to balance consistency and flexibility, with two weeks consisting of three long days per week, followed by two weeks of two long days and one shorter shift. This structure supports continuity of care while allowing team members to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

The role also involves developing and reviewing care plans, overseeing medication management, supporting individuals with financial tasks, and ensuring the service operates effectively during periods when the Manager is absent.

Staying Connected to Direct Care

Unlike many leadership roles, this position remains closely linked to direct support. Team Leaders continue to work alongside individuals on a daily basis, maintaining strong relationships and understanding their evolving needs. This balance between leadership and hands-on care ensures decisions are informed, compassionate, and practical.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience in a similar leadership role within health and social care. A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is essential, along with proven experience in medication management and staff delegation. Candidates should also have experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injury, complex mental health needs, challenging behaviours, and traumatic backgrounds. Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills are key to success in this role.
