Retail Merchandiser Jobs: As a Retail Merchandiser, you will serve as the primary representative of Hallmark in a wide variety of retail environments, including grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and large-scale mass retailers. This role offers a unique opportunity to work independently, allowing you to demonstrate and enhance your organizational and time management skills while building and maintaining strong professional relationships with store personnel. You will be responsible for ensuring that Hallmark products are strategically placed for maximum visibility and sales impact, managing inventory levels to prevent stockouts, and maintaining the overall presentation and appeal of the product displays.
In addition to daily responsibilities, you will play an essential role during seasonal events and promotional campaigns by assisting with product resets, installations, and merchandising adjustments, ensuring that each store aligns with Hallmark’s brand standards. This position requires proactive problem-solving, attention to detail, and consistent communication with both store teams and supervisors to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for customers while supporting the business objectives of Hallmark. By taking ownership of your assigned stores, you will contribute directly to the growth of the brand and help foster positive customer engagement in every location you service.
This role occasionally involves working with products from other companies within the stores you service, providing a dynamic and varied work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Engagement:
Utilize a mobile device provided by Hallmark to restock, organize, and monitor inventory.
Ensure that Hallmark product displays are accurate and well-maintained.
Communicate with store employees and management professionally to resolve any issues and provide feedback.
Holiday Support:
Hallmark operates seasonally, so additional hours may be required around major holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Some holidays may require working on weekends or on the holiday itself.
Department Resets and Installations:
Assist in relocating card departments, installing fixtures, or performing department resets.
Advance notice is usually given for remodel assignments, which may require evening or weekend work.
Team Collaboration:
Support fellow merchandisers in your region when needed.
Contribute to Hallmark’s “One Team Vision,” ensuring consistent quality and service across multiple store locations.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding role:
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, and using stairs or ladders is required.
Energy, urgency, and stamina are essential for success.
Basic Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Comfortable using digital handheld devices for work tasks.
Reliable access to transportation to travel between stores.
Access to Wi-Fi and the internet for communication and reporting.
Schedule and Benefits
Part-time position with 12–14 hours per week, variable schedule.
Additional hours during peak holiday seasons may be required.
