Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Technical Support Specialist Role
In this front-line position, you will become the primary technical bridge between customers and the internal engineering teams. Your typical week will involve diagnosing and resolving issues raised through phone, email, and remote-access sessions for the full range of access control readers, key management cabinets, vehicle identification systems, and associated software platforms.
You will accurately log every customer interaction, ensuring complete visibility for sales, development, and service teams. Essential Skills and Experience Required
Candidates should bring at least five years of hands-on experience in technical support or customer-facing IT roles. A higher education qualification in information technology, electronics, computer science, or a closely related discipline is expected.
Practical hardware skills are crucial – you must be confident using hand and power tools, reading schematics, performing hand soldering to component level, and using a multimeter or voltmeter safely. Strong diagnostic abilities across Windows operating systems, basic networking (IP addressing, ports, firewalls), and common remote-support tools are non-negotiable.
