Join the team: As a Quality Engineer on the COMET Contract, you will support ground systems, flight hardware processing, and launch operations for major NASA programs including the ISS, Space Launch System, Orion MPCV, and Launch Services. You will ensure compliance with quality standards, support design and verification activities, lead nonconformance investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement across mission-critical systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (Engineering or technical field) and 4+ years of experience
Experience in Quality or a technical engineering role
Strong communication, presentation, and customer interaction skills
Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy and meet deadlines
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to work independently
Skilled in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if required)
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
Must pass federal background investigation and meet drug-free workplace requirements
Valid Florida CDL with endorsements
Must be able to work in confined spaces, climb stairs/ladders, wear PPE, and access remote structures
Physical ability to walk on uneven terrain and travel to different onsite locations
Ability to travel for job requirements
Professional grooming and behavior required for safety and team environment
Responsibilities
Establish and assess quality performance criteria for program requirements
Develop and maintain processes and metrics per contract and AS9100 standards
Support Design & Project Reviews, V&V assessments, and Technical Boards
Review work and procurement documents for correct inspection requirements
Create, update, and validate Acceptance Data Packs
Initiate, track, and close non-conformances; support MR/MRB activities
Develop sampling plans and maintain statistical process controls
Perform hypothesis testing (ANOVA), capability analyses, and data reporting
Prepare quality reports and recommend improvements
Maintain technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional networks
Mentor team members and document quality processes
Work both indoors and outdoors across the test complex
Climb ladders and platforms; wear hearing/eye protection and PPE
Travel across site daily; occasional airline travel may be required
Perform all work in accordance with NASA and company safety standards
