Role Overview
WOLF is currently seeking a full-time Engineer, Design Verification to join its team in Aurora, Ontario. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that advanced embedded hardware platforms meet performance, reliability, and integration requirements across defense and aerospace applications. Reporting directly to senior leadership within the verification engineering group, this role offers both responsibility and influence over final product quality.
While hybrid work options exist, the position is primarily lab-based due to the hands-on nature of hardware validation and testing. Engineers in this role are deeply involved in the full lifecycle of verification, from early prototypes to final system qualification.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the design verification team, the engineer will develop structured test strategies aligned with technical specifications and operational requirements. The role involves leading prototype bring-up activities, performing electrical characterization, and supporting system-level validation.
Debugging is a core function of this position. Engineers routinely use laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters to identify and resolve board-level issues. Validating high-speed video interfaces, including modern display and data transmission standards, is also a major responsibility.
Collaboration is essential. The role requires close coordination with design, systems, and validation teams to ensure seamless integration and consistent performance. Engineers are also expected to produce detailed documentation, including verification reports, test procedures, and compliance records. Senior engineers may mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, along with at least five years of hands-on experience in hardware-focused design verification. A strong background in embedded systems is essential, particularly platforms built around programmable logic devices, multiprocessor systems, or graphics processing units.
Experience validating high-speed video interfaces and working with advanced laboratory equipment is critical for success in this role. Engineers should be comfortable interpreting schematics, debugging across hardware and firmware boundaries, and operating within Linux-based environments. Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven industries is beneficial, though not mandatory.
Work Environment and Culture
WOLF fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture where technical excellence and teamwork are equally valued. Engineers are encouraged to share knowledge, propose new ideas, and continuously refine processes. The work environment is dynamic, supporting professionals who thrive under pressure and take pride in delivering reliable solutions that matter in real-world missions.
Compensation and Benefits
The organization offers a highly competitive compensation package starting at 115,000 CAD annually, with flexibility based on experience and expertise. Employees receive comprehensive benefits, including health coverage, disability plans, and wellness allowances. Generous paid time off, profit-sharing opportunities, professional development funding, and relocation support further enhance the overall value of the role.
Beyond formal benefits, WOLF emphasizes work-life balance and team connection through regular social events, wellness activities, and company-wide initiatives that strengthen its community.
Why Join WOLF
