Your Role: Excellence in Motion
As a Service Engineer at Wajer Yachts, you’ll be the person our clients trust to keep their yachts performing flawlessly. You’ll ensure every system operates smoothly — from propulsion and electrical systems to hydraulics and onboard electronics.
Based primarily in Miami, you’ll spend part of each year in The Hamptons, where many of our clients enjoy their summers. You’ll be the technical expert ensuring our customers experience the joy of the water without a worry in the world.
Every day will bring new challenges and rewards — one day you might be troubleshooting an engine system, the next you’ll be optimizing onboard comfort technology. Whatever the task, your goal is simple: keep the Wajer name shining on the water.
Your Key Responsibilities
Conduct maintenance, inspection, and repair of yacht systems and components.
Diagnose and resolve technical faults swiftly and professionally.
Maintain mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to the highest standards.
Work collaboratively with international service teams to ensure global quality.
Communicate clearly with clients to provide updates and professional advice.
Support Wajer’s commitment to innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Balanced work schedule: 218 working days per year for optimal work-life balance.
Secure contract: One-year contract with a one-month trial period and extension opportunities.
Solid foundation: Employment under the Metalektro Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) and PME pension fund.
Career development: We pay for your boating licenses (KVB 1 & 2) to support your professional growth.
Global exposure: Work in Miami with 3–4 months annually in The Hamptons.

What Makes You the Perfect Fit
We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a proactive mindset. You take pride in doing things right the first time, love learning new technologies, and have a genuine passion for marine engineering.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have
A vocational or higher professional qualification in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or Maritime Engineering.
- Hands-on experience as a mechanic or engineer in yacht building, marine systems, or the automotive field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Fluent English communication skills (Dutch is a plus but not required).
- Willingness to live and work in Miami and travel to The Hamptons during summer seasons.
- A valid driver’s license and a professional attitude toward customer interaction.
- You don’t have to be a sailor — just someone who loves technology, precision, and a job that takes you beyond the ordinary.
