Cultivation of Yellow Watermelon: A farmer in Saharanpur is achieving remarkable success in his farming practices. This farmer is realizing the goal of natural and organic farming under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Aditya Tyagi, a farmer of Meherbani village on Behat Road in Saharanpur, started growing organic crops on his village land after retiring from the forest department in 2015. Aditya Tyagi enjoys eating a lot, so he started organic farming to provide clean food to the people.

Aditya Tyagi grows many types of fruits and vegetables in organic farming and his produce is sold at much higher prices than other produce available in the market. Aditya Tyagi has been growing yellow watermelon in his field since last year. Due to the high demand for the yellow watermelon planted last year, he decided to grow it again and this time it is selling well in Uttarakhand.
Its demand remains even in Uttarakhand
For the last two years, farmer Aditya Tyagi has been cultivating yellow watermelon. He started using its seeds for its cultivation two years ago. Apart from a completely different taste from other watermelons, it is in great demand in the market. It is also very attractive in appearance. Last year also his yellow watermelon was sold in large numbers in Dehradun and this time too it is in great demand.
There is no need to go to the market for it
According to Aditya Tyagi, he does not need to go to the market. This golden watermelon is sold at around Rs 30 per kilogram in his field. He also makes fertilizer from the excreta of local cows. Apart from this, he makes a spray called Jeev Amrit by mixing neem, dhatura and cow urine. He sells yellow watermelon for more money because it is completely organic.
